Finance
Finance as a term of money or fund management is already obsolete nowadays. The modern finance can be described as an accumulation of business activities, which cover cash management, marketing, trading assets, liabilities, risks or other fields.
As well, finance is an academic discipline, which deals with different areas: personal finance, corporate finance and public finance. These fields influence the social life: education, health care, housing, media, poverty and wealth, and so forth.
Personal finance
This field deals with finances of family or individuals at large. In the center of interest are
household income and expenses, as well as credit or debt management, income security, saving or investing.
Especially adults are planning their personal finance. There are, of course, typical goals, which influence this decision. On the one hand, young adults would like to pay off their credit card. As well there can be student loans, which need to be balanced. Especially nowadays the investing for retirement becomes more and more important. A few adults need also to think about financing the child’s education. Medical costs need to be considered, as well.
Corporate finance
Corporate finance is used for enterprises and organizations, which deal with corporations, trusts, partnerships or other fields.
An area of corporate finance is the capital investment decision. Those decisions are rested on different criteria.
Public finance
This purview of finance deals with financial affairs, which are made by a national or international government. Public entities are considered here, as well.
This area can be split into three parts of governmental implication:
- Allocation of resources
- Distribution of income
- Macroeconomic stabilization
